چکیده

Spectrummanagement based on private commons is argued to be a realistic scenario for cognitive radio deployment within the current mobile market structure. A scenario is proposed where a secondary entrant operator leases spectrum from a primary incumbent operator. The secondary operator innovates incorporating cognitive radio technology, and it competes in quality of service and price against the primary operator in order to provide service to users. We aim to assess which benefit users get from the entry of secondary operators in the market. A game theory-based model for analyzing both the competition between operators and the subscription decision by users is proposed. We conclude that an entrant operator adopting an innovative technology is better off entering the market, and that a regulatory authority should intervene first allowing the entrant operator to enter the market and then setting a maximum amount of spectrum leased. This regulatory intervention is justified in terms of users utility and social welfare.

MODELING RISK OF LOSING A CUSTOMER IN A TWO-ECHELON SUPPLY CHAIN FACING AN INTEGRATED COMPETITOR: A GAME THEORY APPROACH

In a competitive market, customer decision is made to maximize his utility. It can be assumed that risk of losing a supply chain’s customer can be defined based on products utility from customer point of view. This paper takes account of product price and service level as competition criteria. The proposed model is based on non-cooperative game theory, for one-manufacturer and one-retailer supp...

Multi-objective Modeling Based on Competition Airlines Cooperation by Game Theory and Sustainable Development Approach

In each time period, the demand of passengers for each route are finite and airlines compete for earning more profits. The complex competition among airlines causes problems, such as complicating flight planning and increasing empty seats for some routes. These problems increase air pollution and fuel consumption. To solve these problems, this research studies the cooperation of the airlines wi...

Strategies, Behaviors and Discounting in Radio Resource Sharing Games

In hot spot scenarios, Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) often have to share a common radio channel. These WLANs are here modeled as competing players that support Quality of Service in the presence of other players. The competition is modeled with a stage-based game structure. In this paper, we model existing games by means of repeated stages. This is referred to as Multi Stage Game. During...
